Dzulekie is a beautiful picnic spot perched at an altitude of about 2,133 m above sea level, 40 km west of Kohima, the capital of Nagaland. Situated amidst lush evergreen sub-tropical forests, away from the hustle and bustle of the town, it is a much sought after destination for group picnickers.It is famous for deep gorgeous and cascading waters.Major attraction here is the Dzulekie stream, which flows through a deep and narrow gorge, which looks as if the stream has gone underground at places.A rare species of rainbow trout can be sighted in this stream.The surrounding forest is home to the rare Blythe’s Tragopan, a species of Pheasant.One can also spot Mithuns (Bos Frontalis) grazing gently on the wayside.
